Car rental with Liigu app — how does it work?

It’s like having your own car waiting for you in Malaga airport!

With Liigu, there is no need to go to a car rental desk. You’ll only need your smartphone to find the car and start your rental. We’ll give you all the necessary directions. Most of the Malaga airport arrivals are directed into Terminal 3, so after landing, you can go directly to the parking lot from there.

Need a car at Malaga train station or downtown? We’ll arrange it. Equipped with automatic transmission, Liigu cars make traffic on the charming but crowded streets easier to handle.

Travelling with family? We’ve got child seats for a safe journey with your little ones. Well-behaved pets are welcome too. All our rental cars are carefully cleaned and disinfected. Also, for unexpected changes of plans, we offer free cancellation until 24 hours before your pick-up.

Discover the south of Spain the best possible way — by car!

Car rental is the most convenient way for discovering the South of Spain and stunning beaches along the Costa del Sol.

Malaga region is a popular tourist destination. Therefore, we encourage you to plan more time for the road trips, especially during summer. You’d also want to consider the rush hour in and around Malaga city. From 8.30 to 9.30 AM, 1.30 to 3 PM and 7 to 9 PM there are generally more traffic jams. The historical centre of Malaga is car-free and street parking around the area is limited. To save time and hassle of looking for a parking space, we recommend public car parks, although sometimes they can be quite expensive.

If you plan to drive to the famous Caminito del Rey walkway and beaches near Malaga, it’s a good idea to rent an SUV or a more spacious car for your comfort.

The speed limit in urban areas across Spain is typically 50 km/h (31 mph). The motorways have a maximum speed limit of 120 km/h (75 mph) and the rural roads — 90 km/h (55 mph). Even if locals tend to drive fast and jump a red light, it’s smart to avoid speeding near Malaga. A small exceeding of the limits can result in a significant fine.
