Here's what people say about Cupra Formentor:
Practical but stylish SUV
“"The car looks expensive, yet the rental price was an incredible bargain! My grandma was initially hesitant to get in because it looked fancy and too sporty. However, she absolutely loved the ride—it was really nice and smooth. I'm not sure if I've suddenly become a really good driver or if it's just the car. I'm leaning towards it being the car..."“

Discover the wonders of Lyon in the best possible way—by car!

Renting a car is the most convenient way to explore the scenic surroundings of Lyon and the Alps region.

Lyon Part-Dieu railway station is not only a major transportation hub but also a central landmark within Lyon. It's located in the city's 3rd arrondissement, considered part of Lyon's bustling city centre.

Traffic in and around Lyon can be heavy. To save time, consider avoiding rush hour between 8-10am and 4-6pm. Additionally, Lyon is located on the 'holiday route' from Paris to the Mediterranean coast. This causes the A6 and A7 motorways—connecting Lyon to Paris and Avignon—to become especially congested during the summer holiday season. For a more relaxed journey, allow extra travel time on these routes during the summer months.

For driving in the Lyon city, a small or compact rental car is a great choice. If you plan longer trips to the vineyards in the Rhône valley, or driving to the ski resorts in the Alps, then we recommend renting an SUV or a more spacious car for added comfort.

The speed limit in urban areas across France is typically 50 km/h, with some areas in city centres reduced to 30 km/h. Two- to three-lane roads have a speed limit of 80 km/h, and four-lane expressways are limited to 110 km/h. On motorways, the speed limit is 130 km/h. These limits are reduced in cases of rain or snowfall for safety. Additionally, it's useful to know that green directional signs indicate a non-motorway main route or a 'free road', while blue signs signify a motorway, often marked 'péage', which means you'll need to pay a toll.

Staying longer? Rent a car in France for 1–24 months with Liigu Car Subscription.
