Renting a car with the Liigu app—how does it work?
It's like having your own car waiting for you at Málaga Airport!
You'll only need your smartphone to find the car and start your rental—we'll give you all the necessary instructions. Most arrivals at Málaga Airport are directed into Terminal 3. After landing, you can go directly to the parking lot from there.
Need a car at Málaga train station or in the city centre? We’ll arrange it. Liigu cars are equipped with automatic transmission, making navigating the charming but crowded streets easier.
Travelling with family? We’ve got child seats for a safe journey with your little ones. Well-behaved pets are welcome too. All our rental cars are carefully cleaned and disinfected. Additionally, for unexpected changes of plans, we offer free cancellation until 24 hours before your pick-up.
Discover the south of Spain in the best possible way—by car!
Car rental is the most convenient way to explore the south of Spain and stunning beaches along the Costa del Sol.
The Málaga region is a popular tourist destination. For this reason, we recommend planning more time for driving, especially during the summer. You may also want to consider the rush hour in and around Málaga city proper. From 8.30 to 9.30 AM, 1.30 to 3 PM and 7 to 9 PM there are generally more traffic jams. The historical centre of Málaga is car-free, and street parking around the area is limited. To save time and hassle of looking for a parking space, we recommend public car parks, although sometimes they can be expensive.
If you plan to drive to the famous Caminito del Rey walkway and beaches near Málaga, it’s a good idea to rent an SUV or a larger vehicle for your comfort.
The speed limit in urban areas across Spain is typically 50 km/h (31 mph). On motorways, the maximum speed limit is 120 km/h (75 mph), and on rural roads, it's 90 km/h (55 mph). Even though locals tend to drive fast and run red lights, it would be smart to avoid speeding near Málaga, as even a slight violation of the limits can result in a significant fine.
